Instead of watching crappy TV, I pulled out the beater Schwinn and headed down to the Newport Beach pier. It was too hot today to tempt me to ride and I'm tired of sitting at home. Perfect night. Lot of people out cruising. Wish they had the sense to get head & tail lights. Saw a lot of close calls due to people not seeing each other.
Headed up the coast to SART and rode to Adams, my exit. Almost rear ended two guys on cruisers- same story, no lights. Lights are 5-6 bucks, come on! SART is pitch black
Just about all the riders I saw were best described as casual, most on beach cruisers. Us serious folk need to take back the night.
