I recently had my beloved Trek750 multitrack stolen from me and have been on the hunt for a new used bike... But alas, not finding anything that I like or in my size on Craigslist so I will buy a new bike.

I'm torn between the Trek 7.1 FX and the Kona Dew (both within the same price range)... Having a hard time on deciding which one to get... Both rode beautifully. Help me out here please!

I'd go for the Kona, but I'm biased :D. Since they're close in price and you like them both, get whichever one from the LBS you like better. If they are from the same shop, go with the one that has the best paint color that appeals to you.

Boy those bikes are similar. One is a 7 speed and one an 8 speed. no1mad has good advice. You won't go wrong with either bike. Kona and Trek both make great bikes. Perhaps taking a longer test ride will help you decide which one feels better. Not sure how long of a test ride you took.

Since the Kona is an 8 speed and the Trek only has seven, I'd go with the Kona! ;)

I purchased the Trek 7.1 last October and have really enjoyed it. I can't say much about the Kona as I don't have a dealer near me and have no experience with it.
