Never leave for a bike ride without putting on the chamois cream, I simply forgot! Not again! I did have a almost strange encounter while on my ride today. I almost collided with a cat that was being chased by a chicken! Usually around this area you watch out for deer.
All was not wasted I did complete two rounds of the three loops I had planned to do today(about 4.8 miles) And I tried as my hubby suggested to get low in the saddle to pick up speed. It feels different but I could tell I was gaining. I've also learned how to turn corners at a faster rate and not feel as if I'll fall over.:o

For years I used cream and then for years I did not... but I started having discomfort and went back to using cream and now, like you, I hope never to leave the house without being properly slathered with the stuff.
Funny about the cat and chicken... chickens are scary!!!

I almost never us it unless I am going on a long ride in hot and/or humid conditions, but I will probably take some for Cycle Oregon in Sepetember.

Is the cream a girl thing? I've never used it, and I've never had any trouble that it could help with - at least I don't think so. What's it supposed to do, anyway?

I use for:
1) When I've been off the bike for a while and get back on.
2) Long rides. For me, thats 30+ miles.
Oh, and I'm not a girl.

I'm not a girl (I just checked)
I use chamois butter
Long rides or big climbs it keeps me from chaffing
Hey all the pros in the tdf use it, that's good enough for me
