General Cycling Discussion - Presta AND Schrader Pump

Could you make another one? I would like to see a video of how to pump up a tire using a floor pump. I have seen others but it shows what I think is an ideal situation, and not necessarily a real-life situation.

The single most comment I get is that "its difficult to pump up to 100 lbs". So maybe you can take a woman who weighs 105 lbs and use her to demonstrate how to pump up a tire at those pressures. I am assuming you already know how this is done.

Also, on presta valves, even brand new one's, some are sticky and air needs to be released out to clear out the valve. Some people don't know this. It would be nice to demonstrate how its impossible to inflate a tire when the valve is sticky.

While you are at it, make another video on changing flats (punctures). Not necessarily the patch, but just the remove and replace portions. Again, most videos on You Tube show the ideal which is not a real-life situation. Get to the difficult situations and show how its done, with the "tricks of the trade" methods. Also show how one does the search for sharp objects inside the tire and what tools one can use to get them out. Most videos have this ideal that changing tubes is some kind of race against time.

Find a floor pump with as small a diameter barrel as possible. That essentially gives you "low gearing" for pumping.
