Commuting - My first moist commute.
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Well it wasn't raining but it has been for 2 days now and rained overnite so the roads were pretty wet. With my goal to put more miles on my bikes then my car this year all of the driving I have been doing due to the rain and snow has me itching to get on my bike so I did it today even with rain in the forecast and wet rodes. It went pretty smooth and all in all I think traffic was safer due to the slight fog and wet roads, cars seemed to pass slower than normal and give more room. When I got to work a co worker that had apparently passed me on his drive in came up and commented that he saw my blinky and was aware I was there so I feel encouraged there. Fenders are for sure going on my commuter now. :)

Fenders are not optional equipment on a commuter. You will love them after your first wet ride with them on. Huge difference.

Even a racing bike can take some sort of fender (with modification or extra bracket). Go for it. Also you may need some sorf of waterproofing for shoes, and pack.
