Hey everyone, i posted in this forum a couple weeks back when looking for a bike. Here is my new bike I got from bikes direct. it is a GT Traffic 2.0 Womens Hybrid, so far I am in love with it! Got it tuned up/assembled at REI after it came, been taking it on the trail and it is very smooth and sturdy, sure not as fast as my old road but much more comfortable and to my liking. I also am really liking this bikes IGH system, shifting is very smooth and it is nice being able to shift while stopped. The frame is also pretty sweet, only downside is since its a womens bike its a bit smaller (I'm 5 11 so it barely fits me, had to move the seat up quite a bit, they don't think much of us tall girls when they make the women frames) but it feels just fine. I also like the pinhead anti-theft system that came with it, so I know it will be safe when I take it to college.
It does kind of suck the wheels aren't quick release, but I think the longer time it will take to change the tire is worth the reduced risk of theft.
Overall I am happy with this bike, it is very comfortable and fun to ride, and even though its a hybrid I was surprised how fast I could go on it on the trail, and it was nice to have the tougher wheels and upright position to enjoy the view a bit more. Of course this model only has 8 speeds, so if you want to go up huge hills maybe not for you, but I don't really have any hills to climb so I'm good. It is a great commuter bike with the anti theft system, non quick release wheels, upright position, and the seat even has a built in light!
