Fifty Plus (50+) - Woo Hoo! I rode over 100 miles this week.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I don't know whether or not I've had a 100 mile week since I broke my elbows but I know for sure that I haven't had a 100 mile week since I broke my hip. UNTIL THIS WEEK! Thursday I also had my hilliest ride since my most recent accident. The Grouch is sloooowly creeping back.

Tomorrow starts a whole new week.

I have a spreadsheet that tracks my miles with a column that shows a 7 day rolling total. Whenever it goes above 100 it formats black, otherwise red. It went black today with my first 50 miler of the year.

Congratulations--were your broken bones from falling off the bike?

I am amazed seeing the riders falling off in the Tour and getting wright back up and go on--or most of them anyway.

Keep it up and enjoy.

To me a 100 miles a week is a good measure to keep fit particularly if you ride in a hilly region.

100 mile week .Tomorrow starts a whole new week.

'Tastic! Mabrook, as they say here, which means 'warmest congratulations, keep it up'

( A long time ago I worked as a student summer job on a construction site. Day 1, the foreman said 'keep safe, do a bit, but think of your mates, keep it steady') !

Yup.

Broken bones can be bad, but they're not the worst. Mental anxiety had me all but paralyzed. Were it not for decades of bicycling background and for the support of my sweetie I might have given up. I still don't have the anxiety completely licked, but I'm definitely making progress.

The reason I post this stuff is because I know there are a few lurkers or people who may only occasionally post who have similar issues. My hope is that my experience may give them a measure of encouragement.

And good on ya for doing so. If it helps just one other person work through difficulties, it's worth it.
