Just learned of this event and it sounds like a blast. Has anyone ever participated in it? What were your impressions?

Additionally, my only bike at the moment is a Trek 7.2 FX, which I use primarily for commuting. If I installed cyclocross style tires, would the 7.2 be appropriate for such an event? Would it hold up?

Sorry for all the questions, I am very new to this sort of thing.

Looks like a lot of fun. I think I'd rather ride my hard tail mtb on a course like that, with front shocks unlocked. But your bike should be fine with the right tires.
