I have a bike that I picked up used, an old steel frame 12 speed. I love the bike, and have been riding it for the last three years. The bar tape that was on it when I bought it is starting to tear, and will need to be replaced soon. I'm wondering if someone can help identify it, it has no branding, and to the best of my knowledge, it looks like a synthetic black leather tape, with some texturing to it. It has held up really well in the weather, and hasn't faded. Looks like a strange wrapping job too, the tape goes up under the centre section of the bike levers. Also feels like it's double wrapped, there seems to be something else wrapped under the outer layer. Any help you could provide in identifying the tape would be greatly appreciated. If I have to put something else on the bars, I'd want to maintain the aesthetic, and don't want to go with some tape that has logos along the outside.
