Hi,

I think I drank some bad water on Sunday that I got from a faucet near Lake Mead at a picnic area just off the relatively new River Mountain Trail near Henderson, NV. The drive back to SoCal yesterday was excruciating and once home you can probably imagine the joys that followed. Anyway, I decided to weigh myself this morning and I was 147 lbs -- down almost 6 lbs from Friday. Now if I could stay that weight. :D BTW, I don't recommend this form of weight loss. I am still suffering a little.

Still... effective. Where exactly is this faucet? ;)

:roflmao2:

Careful, you could be drinking a masking agent.

Still hanging around 2kg up from normal race weight, but my legs look totally different than the beginning of the year. At least a little of that has to be muscle.

191.6 this morning. Almost 4# too heavy! It's evening snacks of dried fruit and nuts. :(

I will if you will. ;)

You are NOT, by the way!

Dammit! I hate when you do that!

141.2 this morning.

I'm 5'6". My goal is 135.

Since I don't know what to change re diet, I assume any change will come due to exercise, and I dread the hurt that involves.

Time to consult my RD on that.

RR - you're a lightweight!

Hi, still not completely recovered from my digestive thing but I was 146 lbs this morning -- 6 lbs less than last Friday which was my last weight check before going to Vegas. I am sure a few pounds will come back as I recover but I hope I can stay at or below 150 lbs as I work my way back into my (now delayed) training groove for nationals.

CanNOT wait to be there again. Clothes fit better, climbing easier, etc. etc. 6-ish lbs. makes a big difference.

Ask any of our manorexic friends here...heh, heh.

I think I'm stabilizing -- post food poisoning -- at 149 lbs. Now I have to lose 4-5 real pounds.

sarals

I'm still hovering at 135, which is the bottom. If I get lighter than that, I start to loose (what little) performance (I have). In fact, in spin this morning I kinda struggled. We did lots of high cadence intervals, each successive one longer than previous one, with ONLY ten seconds of recovery between each - and I was not doing terribly well towards the end! I think my weight ties to hydration, and I'm tilting towards the "de" end of that spectrum....

Sara, keeping drinking! I drank 2 bottles on my recovery ride this morning and didn't gain anything weight-wise.

The trick is to drink until you think your back teeth are afloat...then drink some more. And do it every day.

I'd be so much more productive if I had a catheter instead of planning my day around clean restrooms.

143 this morning. Getting food poisoning after a 200k ride and not being able to eat for a couple days is an effective way to lose weight, but probably not a good way to improve poweer/weight ratio.

With all the food/drink poisoning being reported on here, I'm clearly going to have to move to the West Coast if I'm ever to lose any weight. Still 201 lbs. More drastic action required. When one is forced to spend less time on the bike there are more hours a day in which to eat...

Me too. 199 this weekend. It's a long time since I was under 200. I'm pleased, considering that I haven't been able to train properly for over three weeks.

Hey! Congrats!

I did exactly the same. Bought myself a new Surly LHT as a reward and rode it 95 miles yesterday. Woot!

My body fat scale says I'm 5% bf. I know that's a lie. My doctor's scale (a cheaper version of what I have) says 12%. If that's right then I have plenty to lose, but when I got to 138 (which if I'm at 12% now would be 10%) a couple years ago I felt that was too low and I lacked reserves.

I suppose I need some other numbers to really confuse the issue.

You are getting perilously close to RR. Are you doing the EC this year?

191.0 this morning. I'm just not doing the LSD needed to put me in fat burning mode, nor enough hours to burn the calories. I've cut back on intake some, but apparently not quite enough, as I'm bouncing around in the 189-191 range.

Still the usual fatty @ 188. I'm pondering making a push to loose a bunch for the upcoming cyclo cross season. State Champs are the 3rd weekend in Oct. and I age up during the season to Cyclo Cross 60+ due to the World Champ time line. That might give me a good chance for a State Jersey. Maybe somewhere in the 170's would be good? I don't think I'll need reserves for a 40 minute race. I'll have to get my wife on my side as she thinks I'm too lean now.:innocent:

But she rides a faster TT than I do.

Are you doing the EC this year?

Yes. I am a slow learner.
Also the Mt Whitney stage race and possibly Fremont Peak hillclimb.

Just found this thread. I'm 5'10 and 181 down from 232 two years ago. Bought my road bike late last year (age 63)and started off with 100 miles a month which continued to increase to now over 600 monthly. My wife and kids says I'm too skinny (32" waist) but carry the weight in my football and now cycling thighs. Looking to drop antoher 10 to 15 lbs. but don't tell my wife.

I'm new to the forums and thought I'd pop in here first as I'm using cycling in conjunction with my weight loss program.....I won't post my weight but will say I'm down almost 55 lbs in just about two years....I needed something fun to do for exercise as the gym is not my cup of tea....I have about 40 lbs to go and I'll get there with the assistance of my new Trek 7.3.....she's fun to ride....
