Clydesdales/Athenas (200+ lb / 91+ kg) - You think these wheels will hold up ok?

Looking at a lightly-used wheelset and wondering if it'll work for my 230lb bike bod... (Working my way to 215 slowly from a high of nearly 350 a few years ago...) on my steel bike...

The wheels are Ultegra 32H hubs laced (3-cross pattern on both) to Mavic Open Pro rims using DT 14/15g spokes. I've been running straight 14g / 36-spoke on my current wheels (heavy, wide touring rims) and am thinking something lighter for shorter/faster rides might be nice. I'll keep using my touring wheels for training and long-hauls.

I've been getting away with Mavic CXP 33's in only 32H on my Aluminum Cannondale road bike - but those are a bombproof rim with 14g straight spokes...

What'cha all think?

Newer open pro rims apparently have quality issues and I'm not sure what that issue is, but you should be able to search and figure that out (assuming somebody doesn't chime in here).

Other than that, if the wheels are tensioned properly and maintained that way, you should be fine with what you're suggesting.

I asked and they're not new - they're actually six years old and have been sitting in his closet since he upgraded to ksyrium elites 4 yrs ago. He said he thought he'd use them as training wheels but his ksyriums have been so strong for him he just kept them on. He's selling because his wife wants them out of the closet, lol.

I'm not sure when the aparent decline in Open Pro quality took place. Presumably after Mavic was purchased by Salomon. However, I had a pair of 36h OP's from the early aughties that performed addequately and accumulated approximately 20,000 miles before the rear rim was retired. The front is still absolutely fine, although the braking track is worn.

Open Pro's were for the longest time the go to solution for riders that wanted a single set of rims to do everything on.
