If I were him I'd ask for my money back. Aren't performance enhancing drugs supposed to enhance performance? ...Way to go Frank!

Well, he did say he didn't want to be the team leader without his brother, right? Maybe this is just his way of ensuring that.

How does a diuretic enhance performance? How does that work?

Diuretics are used as masking agents.

No backdated prescription. Team has already come out & stated that the team doctor does not use this.

Xipamide is a sulfonamide diuretic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diuretic) drug marketed by Eli Lilly (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eli_Lilly_and_Company) under the trade names Aquaphor (in Germany) and Aquaphoril (in Austria).

Does this mean that Frank loses the MapMyRide.com Aquaphor le Tour Challenge?

Who cares what stories come out of this, if it's true that he doped, then he should be banned like the rest of the riders/cheaters out there are/were/are going to be/etc. You cant pick and choose who you want to get banned and so forth. Contador/Ullrich and so forth got busted for stuff, Schleck's no different, and shouldnt be treated as such.

I could be wrong, but I think the article mentioned it was not a banned substance.

Of course he doped. After the Fuentes thing how could you possibly not know he is a doper. I'd rather go down to my local races and support real athletes than watch the doped up Tour.

+1 looks like there is no punishment for peeing a lot besides maybe a letter?

LA can use this guy in his defense, apparently is a masking agent (dont see why he has to has tension problems) if you see this is because something was used (maybe). In the case of LA they have evidence of other stuff but not clearly what he had inside, suspect of doping but nothing clear (unless the witnesses talk), in the case of FS, similar, they found something and clearly he wont say what he got in (if he really did).

Story short, he won't get any punishment or anything from the team, if they fire him they will make him a big favor because the team looks like in pretty bad shape. IMO he will coma back to riis.

Curiously involving the same DS. There seems to a common thread there somewhere.

Well, if you look at it... JV is not in the tour. Doubt JV called him to tell him use this and this in the last week or they will drop you!, specially if he is being investigated. Pretty much with this eventhought JV is related because he worked with them it could clean him somehow. Not defending him just saying what it could mean for the public opinion and maybe the media if you look the thing from another point of view.

IMO he will coma back to riis. It's a specified substance and unless he can come up with a good reason for using the drug he will be suspended. Given the team doctors didn't give it to him, it seems unlikely he will avoid suspension.

I would not be surprised if the team and doctors knew nothing. In this day and age you want as few witnesses as possible. The only people who may know are Frank and his doctor, and probably Andy. Why involve a team which you distrust.

If I were going to dope I certainly would not make it public.

I think the point was that the team doctor isn't coming forward saying that he gave it to him for a legitimate reason.
