Track Cycling: Velodrome Racing and Training Area - 50th anniversery track party in St. Louis

Mr. Bumpyface is 50 years old, so the track racers are throwing her a party. It will be August 2nd at 6pm There will be a night of exciting racing to watch: keirins, team persuits, and chariots. We will have BBQ for sale to help fund a resurfacing of the track, and lots of time for people interested in riding the track to give it a go around. This will be a fun night for any one with any interest in bikes to come out.

Any one in St. Louis should definatly come out, and if you know any one in the area please let them know. Our track needs lots of love, the more people we can get out to watch the better.

Oh yeah good call. I have been making different versions of this all day, as well as a ton of prep work. And then racing tonight.

August 2nd 6pm at the Velodrome.

Awesome. I keep telling myself that I should make the trip back to Penrose one of these days, but sadly it's still not in the cards. I'll let my StL friends know about it.

On a side note, this has also helped me to realize that Kissena is nearing its 50 year anniversary, too. I guess it's time for me to look into putting on some anniversary races here.

man i would so love to do this , just to go see old bumpy in person. are they really talking about resurfacing ? unfortunately my two track bikes are not ridable yet.i had three but traded the only rideable one away. been a busy summer and have had alot of irons in the fire. only live 100 miles away but never have been there yet.

If you can make it tomorrow it will be a great time to come out and watch. We are doing a series of races taht are really fun to watch, and it will definatly have a party feel. Plus we are going to have lots of time for any one with a helmet and bike to get out on the track, with instructions from racers.
