Has anyone seen it? I thought it was very compelling, although they might have drawn out certain aspects of it a bit too much. I've always been interested in metaphysics, and the reality beyond that of our directly acknowledgeable lives. The movie did a great job of bringing attention to quantum physics, a sort of mixture of tangible science and philosophical possibilities.

I've only seen the first 1/3 so far. It didn't hold my attention. Besides, I felt like I was being preached to by the other side of the religion coin. I didn't see passion of the christ cuz I figured that was crap and I'm guessing this movie is the same type of thing. Passion of the buddha or some such crap.
I'll try watching the next 2/3, but i'm probably gonna need a beer or three.

The movie was made by a cult. The lady with the blond hair in the movie, she is the cult leader. That movie was full of so much b.s. I'm sorry if I've offended anyone. But I wouldn't support a movie made by a cult. You can look it up. Ramtha's School of Enlightenment. Which of course you have to pay for. The blond haired lady in the movie thinks she's a goddess.

Here's (http://www.ruthlessreviews.com/movies/w/wtfdwk.html) a good review of the movie. Not a big fan of mixing religion with science, personally, since neither of them has much in common. Seems like the same people who laugh at "creation science" are always reading books about how quantum physics proves Buddhism, or some such poop.

Is there a particular reason why you're boycotting a movie made by this cult? Or do you have a problem with cults in general?

I've never seen those two words used together, creation and science, hummmm.
I've seen the flick, really liked it, some pretty heavy stuff presented in a very interesting way. Worth a look if one keeps an open mind and all.

WTF? I'm having a hard time figuring out if you are serious or what? I hope you are not serious because that would amaze me. Religion, cults... are we talking about the same movie here?

I'm sort of feeling the same way. I think it's a cop-out that people are claiming it's religion based at all. I don't see any propaganda associated with presenting some interesting concepts that might be different from our generally accepted realities. Although I do think they went a little overboard with the animated blobs singing Robert Palmer's "Addicted to Love" at a Polish wedding, I didn't sense they were trying to convert me to anything... I just saw it as a much needed take on physical science that also takes into account the unknown. Every other form of science I've studied are themselves narcissistic in that they always imply their truths to be ubiquitous and certain. To me that's pretty naive and arrogant when we live in a world where there are so many unknowns.

I haven't heard of this flick, what exactly is the title? I may check it out.

"What the bleep do we know" I think the produces had to edit out the title so the movie would show up in the movie listing of the papers. It may be a bit hard to find in theaters now, it's a bit out of the mainstream, but should show up on DVD soon.

My goal here is not to attack anyone's beliefs. Having said that, I'll also say that I am a practicing Buddhist, so I'd be the first to tell you if I thought quantum physics had anything to do with my religion. But it doesn't. Science is based on logic, and one of the fundamental teachings of Buddhism is not to rely on logic, since it's impossible to think your way out of this mess we call life! I don't think I'm generalizing when I say that ALL religions rely on certain amounts of non-logic. However, when I board a plane, I am certain that all the engineers and mathemeticians involved have done their homework and equations correctly! So the main difference is that science is PROVEABLE, insofar as it is possible to ascertain truth with the scientific method. All these "quantum zen" books,(as well as this movie,) well meaning as they might be, are really nothing more than pseudoscience. Sometimes things that taste great seperately are terrible when combined. And it's really not any different than Creationism.

If "ubiquitous and certain" and proveable are the same thing, then yes, you're right!
I'd LOVE to tell you I'd found a religion or spiritual path that was proven scientifically beyond a shadow of a doubt, but that's beyond science's capability, probably always will be.

I agree with this, and I think that this kind of discussion (eccept for the fig tree and milk stuff) is what the film maker was after. Well put!

thing is, science isn't "proven... beyond a shadow of a doubt". Theory of gravity is just that. Science grants the possibility that we may discover something in the future that alters completely or modifies slightly our current beliefs.
(i think this is correct, been out of school for a while)
but as for logic, that's where "intelligent designer" arguments come into play.
uhh, crap, I forgot where I was going with this... damned concussions :D
anyway, I did feel like the movie was pushing some sort of an agenda, cuz normally, I love stuff like that.

You better not be talkin' about chocolate and peanut butter, buster! It's awesome! Ooo, think I'll go have some now.
