Seeing numbers for a pro domestique, let alone a top GC rider, is certainly humbling. They write how he conserved energy on the TT, and put out an avg of 335W over the TT course. I did a ~10 mile TT last weekend and averaged ~ 275W for a little over 20 minutes. So, he was putting out 23% more power for 3x as long and he was conserving energy...

Yes, they're always interesting, these. Amazing how easily they can cruise while being towed along in the peloton. If you look at stage 5, he has completed over five hours at 39.6 kph with an average HR of 113, riding almost the whole stage deep in his recovery zone.

He reached a top of speed just shy of 70mph in Stage 9, and nearly the same speed again in Stage 19.

Never broke 60 on any other stages though.
