im sure this has been discussed before but i cant seem to find any threads that deal with this specifically..

waterproof socks.. do they exist? ive found ziplock bags only keep my feet dry for the first half of the day before they start letting water in. ive got a pair of $35 sugio neuprene socks but they really dont work. has anyone tried the gore-tex socks?

If you use gore-tex socks with waterproof long pants your feet may stay dry for a bit if you have fenders.

Generally any sock that's completely waterproof will make you sweat, then you're wet.
Zip-loc bags for instance are completely waterproof but with no ventilation you're wet.
Wool is comfy when wet, wear some beneath your neoprene and you'll be warm and won't feel squishy.

They make waterproof socks and gloves for all sorts of activities. I use their chillblocker gloves to commute in and have no complaints. SamHouston is correct in the breathability department. I think that you can have 100% waterproof or 100% breathable, but not both.

What you could do is wear a hiking liner (can get at rei or Ems etc.) And put the water proof sock over and voila you veet are sweat freE and dry.
