Fairdale is branching out from their successful skateboard racks for bikes. Now they are demonstrating something no car-free pet owner should be without, the Fairdale Dograck (http://fairdalebikes.com/2011/10/fairdale-dograck-or-catrack/), for your dog or cat.

thats hilarious:
I don't have a dog, but I think the up coming XtraCycle SideCar would be more luxurious.

Skateboard deck and a "side car"... she also has her own trailer with a rain cover and shade and a basket on the trike.

Artkansas, That looks like something Mitt Romney would use.

Guffaw! Has he ridden a bicycle since he did his missionary work?

The people I see most frequently on bicycles here (other than myself!) are the Mormon missionaries. My husband wears black slacks, a short-sleeved white button down shirt and a black tie for work. Every time I see him on his commute I have to do a double take. Takes me a minute to realize it's just my husband and not somebody to avoid making eye contact with.
I have no pets, but I'm pretty sure my four year-old would enjoy riding on such a rack, if you convinced her it was actually for a dog. She is a puppy in her mind.

That's kinda sad--stiff and awkward even at the age of 20. He could fall off at any moment, but he's got that forced smile for the camera.

I've always wondered - are the bicycles property of the Mormon church, or do the missionaries have to buy them themselves?

I suspect they own their own bikes. I mean, do you think the ties they wear are church property, or do they have to buy them themselves?

They have one feature that most bike stores don't.
"Protection: Our goal is to never leave a missionary without a bike. If the attempt is made to properly lock a bike and it is stolen, we replace it. Or, if the bike is significantly damaged in an accident, we replace it. And, there are no written reports required."

OMG that's amazing. Ever since I learned about how the LDS operates its missions (esp with making people pay for the privilege to work for free) I've been fascinated by how they manage to get such homogeneity in their brand. One aspect of the mystery is solved!

As a dog lover and owner of several that share our lives, I am appalled at this - in fact I hope it is a joke, but, sadly I doubt it. What animal lover/dog owner in their right mind would have a dogs weight rest on 2 rails placed under their stomach and the ribs and then have them RIDE like that??

Considering this is the copy from the site: "The design is NOT breed or even species specific. Our tests have had equal success with raccoons to turtles." and the fact that all of the photos are really obvious 'shoops, I'm confident that it's a joke.

Dunno... I had a dog that probably would have loved it. Current hound wouldn't, but loves golf cart rides.
