I cain't find a Veloce 8 speed derailleur to replace my damaged one, but have located both Athena and Chorus. If both are in like condition, which is considered the most desirable?

Chorus was above Athena in the Campy range.

The man speaks truth. Both were above veloce as well. Consider it a forced upgrade :)

I regret selling my chorus 8 RD.

Sometimes there are differences, sometimes it's just a little ink or other cosmetics.

Chorus derailleurs at the tail end of the 8 speed era attached the lower pivot with a bolt. Athena derailleurs have a stud with a E-clip. The bolt is harder to loose and easier to reassemble when you take it apart to clean the pivots.

Was it a long cage or short cage?
