Recreational & Family - Three generations, 3000 feet and grizzly bears

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Ok...the grizzlies weren't up close (although they have been in the past...) but three of us grandparents joined our son/son-in-law and two of our grandkids ages 11 and 13 and we went to Denali Natl Park for a ride. Last Sat, July 28 after camping at Teklanika we took busses with our bikes back to Eielson and rode 36 miles back to our campground at Tek. 3000 feet of climbing and we had some fun with a Caribou that decided to trot right along side my wife for a short bit. Grizzlies, sheep and other wildlife were also seen. What a hoot http://app.strava.com/rides/15749597
