Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Here's my first attempt at a chopper bike. It started when my daughter learned to ride a bike, and I figured I needed a bike too. So why not build one? It's 99 inches in length; brakes are Hayes hydraulic discs (hubs didn't have disc flanges, so I made them and brazed them on); 3 speeds; chain tensioner is "mid-mounted" to keep the rear wheel looking clean; hand laced rims with polished stainless spokes. Riding position is tolerable. One lesson learned about custom builds is that nothing ever fits. Every piece is a hurdle.

Looks clean. It's a show-off piece for sure.

Cool looking bike. How is the seating position? Looks like the bars are at practically the same plane as the crank at the furthest, doesn't this make the seating uncomfortable?
