Introductions - Hello from a late starter (in waiting)

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hello everyone from a complete newbie from County Durham, England. I'm errrrrm, over 50, and am thinking of progressing from my exercise bike to a road bike. Or am I too old for a new adventure and just acccept middle age with some saving grace.

I intend to have a good read of the posts on here....it looks a great messageboard....but any advice would be gratefully received.

Hi Frank,

Welcome to Bike Forums.

I started road riding at 65 (now 70 with 48,000 miles.)
Did a cross country tour at 67.

You can do it.

Post in The Fifity Plus Forum for help.

Welcome aboard. Over 50 myself and started last year for the first time in 30+ years. Riding a vintage road bike and loving it more than I ever would have imagined.

Or am I too old for a new adventure and just acccept middle age with some saving grace.

Do not go gently into that good night.
