I have too many bikes in a small apt.

fixed gear centurion
"fuji's finest" Alumbinum road
early 90's cannondale MTB with deore XT
Single Speed aluminum ATB I just built.

my plan is to get rid of one of them and it will probably be the MTB or the road bike. whichever one I keep needs to be able to handle light touring and triathlons (on road and off, although I must preface this with the fact that I am not competetive at all).

My current plan is to swap wheels / tires / bars on the cannondale as needed.

Does this sound like a particularly terrible idea to anyone? getting rid of the singlespeed or the fixie is not an option because those are the bikes I ride most often.

Get a bigger apartment. Seriously.

I live in a 600 sq foot apartment with 4 bikes. No way would I sell a bike (or give it away). They're my babies. Fight the power! Keep the bikes.

Keep the bikes Move. Rent storage space.

talk to super, they have tons of basement space they probably don’t use. Pay him like 50$$ a month. That’s what I’m contemplating on right now, not for bikes, but for a motorcycle…. Good luck

I live in a...let me measure...130 square foot dorm room and I have three bikes. The beater stays outside though. The road and MTB stay with me.

When the beater needs work then I have three bikes and very little space to walk in my room. But I manage :D

I've also got a small apartment, only two bikes though.
Can you drill great big hooks in the wall? They hang pretty nicely bike-rack style. I've thought about trying to hold them vertically too. Be creative. Fight the power, keep the bike. And if you're serious enough to consider selling one, how about just disassembly during the off season? Frame and wheels take up less space than bike.

You could always just hand over that fixie, its the problem there. As a public service I will take it off your hands, all you need to do is ship it to my house.
