Cold here in New England. Been wearing an OLD PI skull cap but its just worn out. Any suggestions on a winter hearwear item. was thinking of the headsweats winter cap.

Any suggestions are welcomed
I use a "Buff", a polypropylene tube which you can make a neckwarmer, facemask or skull cap.
I like it. Fine enough to fit under the skid lid, but keeps my bald head warm!

Depending on the temperature I use one to three balaclavas. I do not pull them up over my mouth. I wear a neck gaiter over this that I can actually pull up to under my glasses, or goggles. I can easily pull the gaiter down too, to keep from fogging up or to drink etc. I use glasses down to about freezing, then I switch to goggles. It takes experimenting, everyone is different. Start out a little cold, bring and extra head cover and see what happens. This works for me down to 15f . I'm in R.I. it does not get much colder than that here very often.

Is the Buff actually a tube? I looked at that but it sometimes looks like a tube, and somtimes like a skinny bandana. Also, does it dry quick?
Myself I am looking as well, I bought the smaller brother pictured in the first post, it doesn't reach my ears. Please let me know and good luck looking!

Try a skullcap with made with Gore next2skin windstopper. Mountain hardware makes one. Marmot too, I think. Thin, warm, and blocks the wind.
