I just got some a week or so ago and I have holes in them from walking with them on.

Yes now I know I should have taken them off as soon as a Stopped the bike, but honestly I forgot I had them on.

They are a vinyl type of material and now have a few small holes.

is there a way to repair these to make the covers last longer?

duct tape and/or iron on nylon patches come to mind.

I have put duct tape on the inside filled the hole with silicone seal (rtv) caulking and then put tabe over the outside too. It does not last for ever, but I have repeated this reapair twice so far with no problems.

I am thinking of using Shoe Goo or maybe even a tire patch to seal the holes

Maybe one of those large self adhesive tire boots?

Are these the type of booties you have?

MEC Booties (http://www.mec.ca/Products/product_detail.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=669043&PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=14039&bmUID=1106335225188)

I bought some of these (even though I thought $48 Canadian was a bit steep) and this is my first winter using them. They are truly excellent at keeping my feet dry and warm BUT... are showing some wear already. I hardly walk in them at all, so I think the wear is from rubbing against the "cages" on my pedals.

I think there's a product called "Sole Seal" or something like that that might help. I'll try to get more info and will post a link if I can.

At this rate I'll be lucky to get 2 winters out of them.

They are not the same as mine, but it looks like the same material. Neoprene foam? Very fragile. I don't ride clipped in when it's very cold, so my booties do not rub my cranks or anything.I don't even have cages on my winter bikes. I think you are experienceing typical wear if they rub something. Maybe a piece of inner tube in place now as a wear plate? Or something that protects the neoprene? If the cage fits your shoe then the bootie is not going to fit, and it will really be jammed in place. Did you look for bigger cages. Or Possibly no cages for the winter?

Those are the ones I have. I use clipless pedals, so I do not have the same problem as you with the cage.
