Anyone out there know of or used a BOB trailer on a 29" mountain bike. If so which model and what were your experiences with it??? I'm thinking about riding a 29" bike on the great divide trail this summer and a trailer seems to be the way to go but I'm not sure if the trailer has enough clearance with a 29" wheel plus a 2.1" tire.

can't tell ya, but can pass along experience from a friend... he blew 3 SRAM derails using a bob, so if you use sram, test it out before hitting the trail.

(friend works in a shop, has toured before and races... so I doubt it was inexperience or incomptence in the setup)

29" is the same as 700c, right? then clearance won't be a problem. i've used the
standard bob with 700x38 and 26x2, both setups with zefal fenders. only
clearance issue you might have is hub width, but these can be used with tandems
with the longer skewer.

never had trouble with xt deraillers. might be an issue depending on the bracket
location in relation to the axle.

My neighbor occasionally tows his BOB around with a Surly Karate Monkey setup with 29s.

B.O.B. sells a larger fork designed for 28" wheels. This may have enough clearance fo for your 29" wheel as well. Call B.O.B. to find out more details.

I got a BOB trailer and big tires (28"). Absolutely no problems at all. Fits perfectly fine. I too was skeptical before I got it, but there are no worries at all.
