Introductions - Arivederci, Aloha, Buenas Tardes, Ni Hao, Halo,

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Just dropping in to introduce myself. I started riding last November when I received by Bike in a Box from BikesDirect. Rough going, it's all hills here. Trying to whip my lazy tail into shape. So far so good. Riding maybe once a week, still have nubbies on my front tire. There are a ton of riders here, apparently they come from all over and unload by the van or Lexus load. Then disperse to all points of the compass to attack the same hills I dread with my overweight soft sea creature body.

Look forward to meeting new people and learning about the sport.

Regards,

Totoboa

Hello Totoboa,

Welcome to Bike Forums.

Where do you ride?

Locally, the streets starting at my property gate in Placer County, California. We are at 400 foot elevation, hills in every direction. There is literally no flat ground. Cadence, etc are hard to understand when you are shifting gears almost all the time. There is a killer climb, LOLZ, I checked it's 350 feet up by GPS in about a 1/8 mile. Freakin burning legs and lungs when I crest that .. .. ... Har HAr, having a cold one, watching the Giants ballgame on the tube.

A's fan so back at ya Texas :)

Tomorrow AM before the 105 deg heat + hits I'm taking my son up. Ends up being only 7 miles but if we circle, we are blessed with almost all up/down after the 350 ft climb. Just tryin to work into shape. If ya Google map Loomis, Ca Map view and flip on the Terrain feature, you can see the contours. Almost addicted to it. Just feel great when I get back after a ride.

18 Ft above sea level here. No hills period. Some days I stay in the big ring and never shift

Thanks, but I will have to share a pic from my morning ride. Let's say it's from a squirrel of a different stripe. Pic tomorrow, Monday. :thumb:
