Hi, I'm looking to get a commuter bike? i guess. I plan on riding about 20 miles each way to commute to work. I know that there are quite a few shops in the Ogden area. Does anyone on here have any experience with any of the bike shops in Ogden, which ones to avoid, or which have great customer service? I'm hoping to get a used bike there, as my budget is really small <$300 probably, and I don't know if I trust a bicycle from WalMart or Target.

I don't live up that far, I do trust Bountiful Cycle.
I should add though, My pal got a Wal-Mart bike, against my advise, Ended up riding my old commuter bike.
I have learned these things as I am an urban rider.
Get a bike with proper equipment. Street tires, MTB tires get flats and slow you down. Telescopic forks, especially cheap ones don't do much.
I recommend also pick a bike with means to mount racks and cargo items, as well as lights and other things you may need.
Not my place to say what brands, but go to a good shop and find out your suggested size, even if you don't buy from them.

I like the service I have received at The Bike Shoppe (Washington Terrace area of Washington Blvd), and Bikers Edge, just off 200 North and Main in Kaysville. Watch KSL's classified and pick up and older Mid to High end Road or Mtn bike for 300 or less. Good call on not getting a bike from Wally World or Target. I don't know how the bike shops are up that way, but I do know that the KSL classifieds can be a great resource when looking for a used bike (and just about anything else).
