you just have to keep practicing
... and i still cant bunnyhop high the highet i ever got was 2 feet
Two feet? That's not X-game material but really not too bad.
I'm not a BMX'r, but I bunny hop on my commutes fairly regularly...and that's with full panniers. I have clipless pedals to help get air.
Between clips and tight handlebar grips, you should get better with practice.
Maybe a lighter bike? Have you tried your friends' bikes?

I hate the name "clipless" its such an oxymoron. THEY ARENT CLIPLESS THEY HAVE CLIPS DAMNIT.

I believe that they're called "clipless" because - although you do have clips and you do clip in - they don't have the old-school "toe clips".

Oh Man! Didn't mean to enrage anyone!
Although we are off topic now, beerman and easternbikes are right, and win a brand new pair of Zefal Pedal Clips. Old school? Yeah! Bolted them on my rat traps and used them to commute to college.
Back to bunny hopping: When you lift off, be sure to twist the handgrips forward as you pull up and unload the bike. The twist will get the back tire off the ground, and help keep the whole bike level. No way I can do this on my loaded MTB, so that's where the clipless...uh...pedals that attach to your shoe... come in. No problem on a light BMX.

Hey, i am not picky, can them what you want.
i got 2.5 feet but that is going over old school books.
like alot of ppl said, 2 feet is good. having a lighter bike might help, but if you ride trails alot, you'd know not to go with a frame too light, it will brake.
but, keep practicing!

if youre trying to jump onto a ledge , sometimes you could lean back and put your ass behind your seat and push forward, but im not sure if that would work for everyone

i did wutt u said and i finally got on my first ledge
if you find a ledge is way too high for you, do the leaning back thing, but then when the front gets up onto the ledge, throw all weight hard up&forward. this should make u nose wheelie at the top, hold this til ur back follows. good luck. J

yea JMC is correct. LIft your front of the bike up once the nose is on the ledge. Unless you want to grind the thing, it's gonna be hard if you can't bunnyhop consistently. Try practising every time your on your bike. Also I consider getting better pegs if you dont already have good ones. =P laters
