I have a 1/2 empty beer that I can't finish. Before I'm asked to hand in my Canadian citizenship, I need some suggestions for what I can use the remaining amount for.
Any ideas???
Say you have to pee... go to bathroom with beer, empty beer in toilet.

If you ask your wife to finish it for you, you'll need to turn in your man card, too.
Marinade
Snail/slug bait (pour in shallow dish set at ground level - snails crawl in, get drunk & die).

You've obviously never met a Canadian before. We don't pour beer down the toilet.

My man card is still in good standing. No worries.
The slug bait is a pretty good idea, but I'd need a 24 pack to kill off the ones in our front yard alone.

It's gonna end up in the toilet one way or another.

You'd be surprised at how many will crawl into the dish. It can get pretty disgusting.

Yes, but let's not hurry up the process.

This one looks pretty good - beer can chicken (http://www.simplyrecipes.com/recipes/beer_can_chicken/). It only takes half a beer.
Save the beer overnight and use it tomorrow.

Hey that's not a bad idea. Have you ever tried this before? Is there a concern with the ink getting absorbed by the chicken when it's heated up?

I have never tried it, but there are hundreds of recipes out there where you sit a fowl on top of a can of beer. I figure it can't be bad if the chefs on the Food Network show it on TV.
Edit: I think Tom Stormcrowe might have done this on his BBQ.

Both... but mostly the avatar. I had a really bad crush as a toddler with the genie.

I've eaten a meatloaf with a dash of beer added in before.

Wait ... if you are sprinkling beer on your meatloaf just before you eat it, couldn't you just take a bite, then chase it down with a swig of beer? Same effect? ... or does the 'before' need to be clarified?

I know your pain brother! Pour it into the compost, the yeast activates the bugs that make the fine dirt! (Now what do I do with this half glass of Merlot?).
Cheers,
Chris
Drink the beer Nancy. There are no other options.

I do this fairly often, it's wonderful. Never heard anyone complain about the paint...

I'd be really shocked if Tom didn't :D

YES!
I can send you some armadillos to take care of the slugs in the yard but I think wasting beer would be considered alcohol abuse and that is not acceptable. Drink it!

This, and then have another for having to post this in the first place. Eh?

The only reason for not finishing it is from getting too drunk and passing out with it in your hand. Am I right?
I'd vomit to make some room then grab another six-pack.

And don't remind the rest of us that you're probably wondering how to finish a better beer than the rest of us are drinking.

I was just full after eating my steak. I don't drink to get drunk anymore ... not for 25+ years. It's all about the taste now :)

before baking, I mean.
I think it's supposed to make the meat more flavourful and juicy.

I haven't bought cheap pee water beer in forever. Taste and effects for me. Except in reality majority of the time I'll quit after 3-4 when I start feeling da beer fuzzies.

I bet your steak was actually a hamburger steak and you only picked at it, concerned about your figure and what your date would think.

I should mention that lighter is better when cooking beer can chicken. Even my usual cheap IPA is somewhat dark for it. Use crap like Bud or Coors. Coors is my favorite.
See, that's the problem. Beer is food. Why fill up on steak??

Rueben, Re: pouring beer down toilet. A true Canadian processes beer before sending it south to the States. We known most of you Americans can't handle full strength beer, cause we find you laying around passed out in the streets when you visit us and consume it. :)

Marinade. Also as a mop for Brisket. Key ingredent for some batters for deep frying/tempura.
Give Tom a couple of days and he will figure out a finishing sauce using beer.

Do you have any brats that need grilling? A little boil in some beer first will give them that extra oomph. Also good for the onions you put on top. Even if you have to save it until tomorrow, it's not too bad if the beer's flat. Probably need more than half a beer, but that way you only have to use one fresh can rather than 2.

We are know your reason for dispair my frosty friend and this October is soon approaching again.
Let's just asume it's a world sport now and keep guzzeling those hops while we enjoy the game,eh?
I vote for green beer bread. Beer for flavor and the fav 60's herb for the munchies to eat the whole loaf. Besides BC Bud and Bud makes a heck of a double whammy and is a very Canadian-American way to celebrate détente.
