Foo - Brains aren't really important
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

"a miracle"? this is a miracle if it's in the book of job. i would instead call this awful, horrible luck.
it entered a 'non-eloquent' area of the brain? now that's funny.

that photo make me say OUCH! I've seen injuries kind of like that - makes one wonder how quick one's important brain cells can "slide" outtatheway!
One boy (he was @ 20) I know put his head where it shouldn't have been, and ended up with an iron rod through his head - entered just below & in back of his front teeth, and exited slightly to the left, but through the top of his skull. No coma. No brain damage. Just a few months recovery. Unfortunately, he was - in my book - an idiot BEFORE this happened (or his head would NOT have been in the way!... work related injury), and his recovery didn't change anything there! Then there are the kids who slam thier heads into a tree and become vegies.
