Bicycle Mechanics - shimano rxx levers

Hiya ,daft ? perhaps
but how do i straighten one,it's slightly off line
i can't see how to slacken,straighten and retighten it,

Is you lever an STI shift/brake lever, or is it just a brake lever?

I've never heard of RXT shifters, is this a road or mountain bike?

STI dual-control levers (RSX, RX100, etc.) have the band-clamp, 5mm Allen bolt under the rubber hood, following the visible channel on top (and to the outside of) the lever body.
Road brake levers typically use a 4 or 5mm allen key fitted through the opening at the front of the brake lever, from the front. There may be a hole in the lever, or you may have to apply the brake lever to create the opening at the front for the Allen key.

Mountain bike levers use similar sorts of internal and external clamping bolts, which usually take a 4 or 5mm Allen key.

Here's an answer for the question that I think you're asking:

Peel back the outside front edge of your brifter hood. You'll find a little groove. Fit a 5mm allen wrench in the groove. Loosen the bolt that's hidden under there and you'll be able to straighten the lever.

When you retighten the lever, don't go overboard. You want the lever tight enough so it won't move during normal riding but loose enough so it'll move to the side rather than break if you fall. Brifters ar normally the most expensive component on a road bike so you don't want to break one if you can help it.
