He is away at college and called me to look at a CL ad he was considering. A early 70s Batavus stovepipe bike with steel rims, handlebars and Huret or Simplex derailers. I warned him away from that one and found a mid 80s Schwinn Prelude for a few bucks more. I thought it was better on all points and he went and got it. Helmet and pump purchased this morning.
