General Cycling Discussion - Best MIRROR?

I owned few mirrors already and most of them either brake easily or are vibrating and hard to be usable.
I would appreciate any input, links and opinions based on your experience. Most of my rides are on rail trails and some roads.
I would prefer something small, helmet or glasses mounted...

Helmet or glasses mounted mirrors have the advantage of providing a relatively wide field of view and also allow scanning a wide angle behind by rotating your head head a bit. They are also much less prone to vibration. I like the Take-a-look compact mirror which I mount to my glasses. It can be adapted to helmet mounting as well.

I just got a take a look mirror & I have to say that I am still getting use to it, but may never get use to them. The mirror doesn't shake much and fits well to the visor with zip ties. I believe it may give you a larger field of vision if you can get it closer to your eye so check your visor to see how far back it comes.

FWIW, I feel that since I have to move my head around to get a good view of what is behind me that I still just turn to take a look behind me anyway. I also found out years ago when using 3D glasses on geographical maps that my eyes were farther apart than the average person giving me more peripheral vision which helps with looking over your shoulder.

I'm wrestling with this issue as well, and wouldn't you know, no one mirror works with any of the three bikes I have - kind of frustrating. I find that most of the mirror mounts these days are intended for the flat bar style handles so prevalent on MTBs, hybrids, etc. Some other mirrors for other handle styles are just, well, ugly and ungainly.

However, one mirror that I did find relatively useful and can be easily moved from one bike to another is this one from axiom:

The rubber strap is pretty secure, and relatively easy to attach and detach. The middle bolt loosens sometimes and then the mirror dangles down: have your multi-tool handy!

The mirror is a little too super convex for my liking: a little less curvature would be just right.

Why that's easy. Chuck Harris mirrors are head and shoulders better than any others I have ever tried. The mirror part is supported by a bicycle spoke so it holds securely to a helmet or eyeglass, is easily adjusted and securely holds it's adjustment.

Unfortunately, Chuck died recently so there will never be any more made. Mine is not for sale.

Chuck built his out of bending SS spokes.. get some pliers and try DIY..

Take-a-Look original mirror. Find it on Amazon for $15. Put it on your glasses or helmet. Forget about it. This this is a lifesaver, doesn't move around, takes seconds to install, and is plain fun to use.

I have this one and can't say enough good things about it. It's really fantastic. It's mounted on my Giant Escape.

Had not heard that Chuck had passed. Guess I won't see him at the Hilly Hundred in October.
