I'm planning on making the trip to Columbus, OH to see my sister. While there, I thought it would be nice to go on a bike ride with her. She's not used to riding longer distances, really just want a nice beginner level ride. I'll also be pulling a trailer with my daughter, so low traffic would be nice.
I am completely unfamiliar with Columbus. Can anyone suggest a nice organized event or routes? How are the critical mass rides?
Thank you!

The Yay! bikes ride looks like it will fit the bill. Considering that 18 miles is the hard route, it seems pretty casual. My sister was a bit worried about the mileage.... don't know why, she is in better shape than me.
Thanks for the recommendations. I'll make sure to return the favor if you ever ride in Canton, which I am sure is on a bucket list somewhere.

the 18 mile trip was last month. Septembers theme is Back to School and we will be touring a few of the nicer libraries. The mileage is usually a bit less than 18 and the pace is slow to moderate. My whole family rides in these. Heres the facebook page for that month: http://www.facebook.com/events/399769830079882/
For casual riding, there is a nice paved bike trail along the Olentangy River in Columbus that runs north-south through OSU into downtown Check it out on Google Maps and use the biking option.
