The guy who designed this must be a marketing genius. Even I would probably start drinking heineken more often if they came out with this, and I am a very "stick to what I like," kind of guy who hates marketing ploys, and I'm not very fond of Heineken.

There isn't enough room around the cap to allow my gorilla-size fingers to remove it. I would probably end up eating the whole thing. This might be messy.

I still advocate for cans. Its a bummer that breweries I like don't use them and prefer glass, which lets the sun light in.

You have no idea how many times I have used that quote! Blue Velvet is one of my favorites, and definitely Lynch's best IMO. One time at a friend's family party, his uncle whom I knew was drinking a heineken and I said, "Let me tell you a joke about heineken. What kind of beer are you drinking?" He said, "Heineken," and I SCREAMED "F THAT S PABST BLUE RIBBON!" and left the party briefly. Luckily my friend's family thought it was hilarious.
And I think certain beers are better in cans, but others just don't taste right in them. As long as it hasn't been sitting around too long, the light factor really isn't a problem.

Why can't they just sell beer in a 5 gallon pail?
very efficient. When do we see a fridge full of them?
I think it would be ineffecient in the fridge.
Sure, you can pack your fridge full of them, BUT you're not going to have good cooling capabilities if you do.
Red Stripe isn't worth drinking. Totally unremarkable.

Heineken do already, in Australia, in keglets.

Plus it would eliminate the broken beer bottle glass that my bike tires like to find.

If you can open it with fingers... then you are a gorilla, it is not a twist off.

Cans are becoming popular with some of the microbreweries more and more around here.

Cans are OK if you are pouring into a glass. I just don't like drinking from a can.
From a microbrew concept, isn't it more difficult to can then bottle a beer? I mean you can manually bottle beer with some pretty simple hand machines... what does it take to can a beer?
This is all it takes to cap a bottle...

agreed... or like he's drinking a bottle of cologne or something. If these do come out Heineken will likely become, even more so, the ultimate d-bag beer.

Easier for the homebrewer I'm sure. Mass producers? I've no idea.

Nothing new about this, heineken themselves had this idea in 1963:

Yes sir, I am a gorilla. A highly educated, somewhat intelligent gorilla, but a gorilla nevertheless.

^^cool guys would use a bic lighter. us really cool guys use a cheapo lighter that breaks and spews compressed lighter fluid into the newly opened beer and across half of the room.

i've seen it more times than nearly any other flick with the only exceptions being casablanca and caddyshack. it's fun to speak the dialogue with the characters, especially frank booth. and if you like drinking games, 'blue velvet' is a good one to use. just drink every time frank says 'f√<k' or versions thereof. go slow.
lynch is one of the best. check out 'the elephant man' and 'mullholland drive' if you haven't already done so. it doesn't get much better than those...

I like those, but I'm obsessed with Twin Peaks, both the show and movie, and I think besides that Wild at Heart and Lost Highway are my favorites. Mr. Eddie's car in Lost highway is a big part of how I got into Mercedes so much, (see clip below.) I drove about 300 miles to see Inland Empire,(closest theater playing it,) and was kind of disappointed, though I haven't seen it in awhile so who knows what I'd think nowadays. I will definitely play the Blue Velvet drinking game ASAP.
NSFW due to language, sorry mods if this isn't allowed... But this is required viewing material.

"tailgating is one thing i cannot tolerate."
"yeah. i can see that."
i felt like reacting this way just the other day, stopped on my bike at a red light. there was a car behind me that could've easily gone around me and turned right on the red if he were in a hurry, but waited for the light to change. when it did, i headed out, but struggled a second to get in my clip. instead of waiting the one second for me to clear, he honks, i get in my clip, turn around, and he flips me off. so for the next thirty minutes this guy is in my head, ruining my mood at the end of my ride. right then, i needed a mercedes...
lynch is a master of sound. he either engineers the sound or is the overall producer in post, i don't know.. check out the sound when jeffrey is in the stairway of dorothy vallens' apartment, when he drills down into the violent world of the insects in lumberton, and the transitions between scenes in the elephant man. it lends this other worldly element to his films that is really unique. love him.

Funny how things change. I can remember when Heineken was THE class beer and Pabst Blue Ribbon was like the ultimate also ran, nobody drank it. I doubt that the beers themselves have changed.
