Kia ora ngā tāngata paika! Hello bicycle folk!
I live in Whanganui New Zealand
I have been cycling since I was a wee nipper, and have only recently become a regular car owner in my late 30's. I'm not much of a sportsman, more of a determined commuter.
I work for "Whanganui Green Bikes", a small community scheme which recycles bicycles and offers cheap bike repairs.
I'm a bike mechanic and bicycle enthusiast, I've built a number of bike trailers which will carry up to 150kg/330lb.
I currently ride a solid yet battle scarred mongoose NX 7.3 mountainbike with ex-NZ Post rear pannier rack (Alloy, just about stronger than my bike frame....) and NZ Post solid plastic panniers with waterproof covers made by "Cactus Climbing". I have replaced the wheels and running gear on my bike with a 'NOS' older black Deore LX 7sp groupset which I like very much. I'm running 26" FIR rims which seem good, but I don't know much about them. Hybrid tyres with decent side tread allow me to make the most of urban roads and loose surfaces on riverside walk/cycle paths.
See ya round the forums!
Regards,
Joneypops
