Mountain Biking - I could have spent $1000 on bike stuff, but NOOO....

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

My computer had to die and I had to buy a new one. There goes a new fork and wheelset. Annoying, just as I'm getting some extra money, I have to go and spend it.

I needed a laptop, and didn't want something second hand with no warranty.

What are the specs on the new one?

for 250$ you cant get a hecek of a lot. Retail for a CPU is over half that, well depending on what you get

What are the specs on the new one?

It's a Dell 600M with these specs:

Intel® Celeron® M Processor 340 (1.5GHz/400 MHz FSB)
Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
14.1" XGA TFT Display
32MB ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 Graphics
512MB DDR Memory
8X DVD-ROM Drive

It's also got built-in wireless, and although it's not real fast, it's only 1.2" thick and 5lbs. I'll get rid of XP Home and install XP Professional as soon as I get it (just ordered it today, wont have it for a few days).

I resemble that comment ;). I am likely a bigger nerd than most people who think they are L33t, being thats my career. But my priority lies with my bike. My home computer can rot for all I care haha I cheap out on my home pc all the time haha

I am not nerd by any means...I just can't stand a computer that doesn't function....plus I multi task...as of current on my laptop ( the p4 that I have) 66 processes and a 600MB Page file going... once in a while I'll use all my RAM

I must admit, I've spent way more on my computer lately than on my bike.

It's an A64 3000+ @ 2.2GHz, 512MB PC-3200, 6600GT AGP, 80GB WD SE, NEC 8x DL DVD burner.
Chieftec green aluminum mid-tower with side window, 480W TT PSU.

All on my blazing fast, cutting edge 56k connection.

Hopper: I'd host the vid for you, as I usually do for anyone I come across, but the guy who ran my hosting company decided to close it for some reason (haven't talked to him yet), so I can't atm.

True dat! I used to work for those price-gougers....

I dunno, I have to have some parts fail before I worry about getting new stuff(for my bikes, I mean). That's the nice thing about having 2 bikes-one's always rideable.

I'm not on the computer a lot, being that i'm not allowed on the computer during the week becuase i dont have straight A's, dang parents :(

I used to be on a lot, graphics designing, but i got bored of it about a month ago.

All i really do is, forums. And i have web hosting space, so i host ppl's domains for free :D
