Classic & Vintage - In which I'm basically the nicest spouse ever

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Today is my birthday - and I let my husband buy himself a "new" bike today and went with him to pick it up. He did take me out for an awesome dinner though.
So, the bike my husband he got wasn't C&V, but we were chatting with the seller and asked him what other kinds of bikes he rides. Then the seller shows us a room full of probably 20 C&V road bikes! All high end vintage road bikes and in great condition. He said he rides a different one each week. The trip was definitely worth it for me to see such an amazing collection!

How nice you to let you hubby buy a bike and settle for dinner.
What did he buy? Pics? What kind of C&V did the sseller have?
BTW have you been reading Around the World in 80 days?

Happy Birthday. But..your birthday and he gets the present? You are a great wife, Id say.
Did you go to Southlake?
Yes, it was Southlake.
BG - he mostly had Italian bikes - Colnago, Alan, Bottecchia, etc. but I also saw a Miyata there and Bob Jackson. Sorry, no Bianchi.
Hubby's new bike is an aluminum road bike with a carbon fork & carbon seatstays. Beautiful glossy black. It was made by a local builder. I don't have any pics b/c I just have my crappy iPhone 3G camera, but I'll try to convince the hubster to take some pics.
I think I may have read Around the World in 80 Days a long time ago, not recently.
Happy Birthday. But..your birthday and he gets the present? You are a great wife, Id say.
Thanks Rootboy. I may ride the new bike from time to time.... :innocent:
I got some nice presents and a great birthday dinner though so it's all good.
I sometimes "hate" looking at sellers collections. Been looking for a Landshark ever since I saw a beauty in a guy's living room (I bought my chrome Katakura from him).
All kidding aside, seeing other people's stuff can introduce you to interesting brands, build strategies, etc.
