Having trouble searching for this but I'm sure it was posted some time in the past. Is it hard to switch from a nutted hub axle to a quick release? The nutted axle I was working with yesterday ended up being bent and I would love to switch it to quick release. It measures 180 mm or so. What do I need to be concerned with in making the switch?

Basically, you will need a hollow axle and quick release lever assembly. To determine the proper axle length, you need to know how far apart the dropouts are on your frame. Once you have the proper axle, you can move the cones and locknuts from the solid axle to the hollow axle. This is a good opportunity to replace worn balls and repack the hub with fresh grease.
