They're thawed out now, but earlier this week i hadda turn 'em by hand to get my feet in the clips. Annoying.

Just kick them with your heel of your foot. Thats my guess? I have never heard of pedals freezing up because of the cold. It could be that your pedals are old and they need replacing. Hope this helps.
Lube is your friend. Oil instead of grease when it is really cold.

Amazingly the Nashbar clipless pedals I am using have soldiered through the harshest weather. Says something for sealed bearings.

Salt has done some serious damage to my pedal bearings the last few weeks. Two sets of pedals too.
