Classic & Vintage - any idea on the type of steel used in this frame on ebay?

Can't say for sure, but most Somecs I've seen, and mine included use Columbus. I have a TT frame that Im pretty sure is SL. I have seen other frames denoted as SLX and MAX as well. Either way, Somec makes good quality frames, no low end stuff. They have always been a low volume producer, and are still underrated IMHO.

Probably Columbus of some sort, as to SL, or SLX or SL three main tubes only, the images don't help. As the tubing transfer is missing, I would bid as if it is a lower tier frame. Although, you might be hard pressed to tell the type of tubing by the ride, and maybe not much from the weight.

Just saying, if it had some pantographs, which were very popular in the day and which Somec used extensively, I'd be inclined to recommend the purchase. This frame looks very pedestrian.

Looks nice. And tiny. Those small frames are tough to find.

Columbus steel tubes for sure, not sure which type; Gipiemme drop-outs. Nice smaller sized frame. Lugs have heart (or "spades")-shaped cut-out design (think of Colnago). Ferrari-like horse logo, and the other markings suggest manufacture in the Emilia-Romagna (or Romagnolo) region (Ferrari is located in Modena). The winning bid was not at all out of line. All in all, a nice frame worth building on.
