Hey guys, first off my name is josh... I live in Oklahoma and originally from CT... Which leads me to my question..
But first a bit of background:
I recently about a month and a half ago bought a trek wahoo new from bike one. I bought a mountain bike because I was planning in taking trips to CT and mountain biking with friends while also getting back into shape. One reason I veered away from a road bike was because I'm 6' and 250 lbs, and I was in great shape when biking non stop as a teen and before hurting my knee but thought due to my weight a mtb would better hold the weight and e more durable... Secod reason was because I thought I would do a lot of trail riding around here....And since I'm using this for exercise that the added friction and work I would be putting in to ride it would burn some more calories and provide a better workout.
Come to realize that I enjoy riding on pavement bike trails and almost regret not getting a road bike and that's tough considering I shelled out 600 for this. I usually ride 10-15 miles each time I hop on it about 3 times a week.
I was curious what I could do to possibly make it a bit faster on the road without putting a lot more investment into it... Or if it could be converted into a road bike even though it has disc brakes and geared to be a mtb lol.... Any help or suggestions would be great.
And it's there atleast some more aggressive handlebars that I could put on the straight bar to give me a different hand position??
Ps, I also bought it because I used to own a trek and specialized and those endured and were durable.
