Howdy folks. My name's Matthew and, unlike many of the newcomers I see, I am not a long-time cyclist! I've been living here in Kenya for a while now and only recently decided to pick it up more as a form of self-inflicted mandatory exercise (the strict 30-minutes a day cardio was the intention). Now I'm falling in love with it though, and it's not too uncommon for me to spend my days off of work exploring the roads and charting my progress on the great Nairobi Road trek (though I'll never be able to make it all the way - it's a 2-week journey for seasoned locals) for well over 2 hours at a time (nothing for you guys, but it's quite an accomplishment for me so far). I'm still very young though, so I'll have plenty of time to continue my new passion when I return the States (at which point, I'm hoping to start signing up for local rides and events).
Anyways, it just hit me that I could learn so much more from people that have been biking for a long time, so I consulted the great Google and found this site :) Hopefully I can learn a lot and make some fellow boda-brothers (local Kenyan slang) while I'm here!
