Classic & Vintage - Who has a Velospace account?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Sometimes the bike porn on here is just not enough for me and I have to go out and get my fix. I tend to search some different sites. One site i always check out is http://velospace.org/node. Which members on here have an account, and if you do post a link to it, i'm sure members would love to check it out.
Here's mine, not fully up to date but the best i can do for now:

I know of a few members on here that have it, including robbietunes, veggie and one or two other guys.
For some reason I was googling my username and came upon this.
You can see my bikes in my signature, those aren't all of them, just the running ones..

A smattering of my stable is on Velospace.
It is also a good place to write down your serial numbers as it stores it online and doesn't share them, give you a place to access them anytime you can get to a computer.

I'm a member, and once most of my bikes, past and present, were on there at one time or another.
I'm in the process of getting re-organezed in that regard. It's a good place to post your bike photos, then copy the properties of the photos into BF. If it was a large photo and made it through velospace's size filter, it will be a nice photo to upload into BF.

I have my bikes on Velospace. I've put a hot link in my sig: my bikes (http://velospace.org/user/839)
I'm on there too. I added quite a few components when I first joined, but have only just gotten around to adding any of my bikes. Just procrastinatin'.
EDIT. I confused velospace.com with velobase.com - I have added components to velobase and bikes to velospace.

I signed up a while ago and haven't been back. It looks cool but there is almost too much content. It's hard to look at all these bikes I don't have.
It seems pretty cool documenting all one's bikes. Daunting also.
I have an account but haven't logged in for awhile. Some of my bikes are linked to Velospace in my signature.

For a stolen bicycle, it's a perfect record of what the bike was, components, etc.

I fully agree. This thread got me adding some more of my bikes. It took most of my Sunday and a fair bit of determination. I don't want to know how many other Sundays will be needed to complete the task.
It is kind of rewarding though.

Other than message boards, Velospace the only other form of social media I accept (though it still has too many hipsters on it :P).

It looks like a good place to buy derailleurs and brakes also. Nice layout there Kurt!

I thought that since you gave us all your old stuff that you were a hipster now yourself! ;)

Are you talking about velospace? The forum and bike profiles are completely Separate, no minimum post count needed. Believe it or not, there was a time when there was no vspace forum.
Also, post bikes, not parts

I tried to upload a bike and failed due to the file size. I have figure out a way to reduce the file size. . Can I do this in Illustrator or Image Ready? my photoshop is busted.
Google's Picasa will do it easily and it's free. You simply export to a smaller file size.

I got my PX uploaded but there seems to be a random Grandis crank in my set also. It's not my Grandis either...
Do you see that?

Velospace has a few technical problems. One is that images are kept in a global name space. So if you upload an image that has the same name as an image someone else has already uploaded you will get their image on your page. The fix is to name all your images something unique. I prepend my user name to all the images I upload to Velospace. So instead of using the name the camera gave the image, say DSC00234.jpg, I would rename it to BlueDevil_72Mercian_right_side.jpg.
The image size restrictions are a pain also.
My Velospace account is BlueDevil and I have some of my bikes there.

My Velospace account is BlueDevil and I have some of my bikes there.Sometimes, you can sneak in a big pic, which is odd.
I've also had the "global pic drawer" put a different picture on my page than my bike. This led, of course, to putting up a page and tossing in generic image file names, just to see what showed up.
I like scrolling through the new uploads for C&V. Plus, there are some serious bad-ass bikes on velospace, from hard core roadies to fixed gears. C&V bikes are some of the tamer offerings.
Velospace is an excellent place to document your bikes in case one of them gets stolen. All the build data is right there.

After seeing this thread I decided to sign up.
The forum there seem's very quiet, and trying to download my pictures into jpg's seem's to be a ridiculous and darn near impossible task!( at least for me) I'll try one more time when I am willing to waste another 2 hours of my life in the effort. I mean seriously, in the age of photobucket, why do we have to use something as antiquated as jpg's?
