It is an American heavy-weight "cruiser" with a 1-piece crank, a double top tube, and 26" wheels. I can't read the headbadge or the lettering on the chaingard for the brand.
It could be a Murry re-badged as a Huffy. It has those solid forks, but it doesn't look like a Schwinn.

+1 Older American heavy wieght definetly not a Schwinn. This bike does look a lot some of the Murry's and CCM's from the early 60's.

This was my bike when I was a kid. I got it brand new in 1984. Its not a swinn or a Huffy.

Looks a bit like a Worksman, but I don't think that's their headbadge. I think those wheels are smaller than 26", maybe they're as small as 20".
