Hi there,

Longtime lurker of the commuting and ss/fg forums... newbie mtb'er.

I'm looking to replace the fork on a 2006 DB Response Sport that I just bought off of CL for cheap, for a 2nd bike. I'm not looking to get too extreme or invest a bunch of money in a beater bike. I do want to take advantage of these trails we have here in Austin, and I'd like a fork that can take some abuse. I don't want to spend any more than $200 and I'd love to keep it around $150.

I'm not looking to become on expert on mtb parts just yet. I just want to get out there and have some fun riding the trails. If it sticks, I'll do my own research later. For now, I trust the collective wisdom of these forums to point me towards a good purchase.

Thank you in advance, and I'm all ears....

What's wrong with it?

A rebuild will be well within your budget.
