Hello. I am new to the world of biking, but to say the least I enjoy it. I got into it 10 years ago but only rode a couple of times and was basically just trying to figure out how to balance. After my uncle ressurected my bike from the cabin, I have started to ride again. 8 miles the first day, 8 miles the 2nd, and today I did 20! I ride a mountain bike, that is what I have to work with.
Im hoping to gain good information on this site. THe cool thing about biking is that it's a tough workout, but it isn't perceived as tough. In other words, I get a good workout without knowing how hard Im really exerting myself. Where as in other workouts, my body will feel the pain. With biking, only the butt muscles need to get used to the pressure. Other than that it's good.
Im also an avid stairway climber. I live in the san francisco bay area, and there is a world of secret stairways, hundreds of glorious stairs by the hills that lead up to great views. I love to climb stairs in San Francisco and Berkeley. Not only is it a great workout, but it's very scenic. Typically I will go up one stairs and then a couple blocks away awaits another stair and another. Adventurous. Im also very much into hiking.
And so to completle my workout's I couldn't think of a better way to accentuate my workouts then to pick up a bike. It's wondeful. The perfect addition.
