Commuting - rain pants sizing?

I just bought a pair of performance bike rainpants, in my size (supposedly) 36" waist (large).....well they don't fit. I can get them on if buck nekkid, but then they are so tight that it well....makes certain things that shouldnt be hurting hurt :(

So, do you do a +x inches for sizing or what? BTW I wear baggy jeans and usch usually when riding...I prefer street clothes :)

I always end up getting 1 size larger in shorts and pants from performance than I normally wear. They seem to run a little small.

wouldn't that defeat the purpose of them being rain pants? I suppose if you were careful you could do it, but I'd just send them back for a different size since they are brand new.

Oh, forgot to mention that I got a Jittery Joe's jersey for Christmas from my wife and we had to send it back because it was too small, even though it was the same size as other jerseys that I have. This one was a Louis Garneau. I guess it just depends on the manufacturer.

I got some rain pants from Performance that are xxl for a whole $4.95 (that's why I got them) and all of my shorts and other pants are xl...

Basically the xxl are too small for me even if I am nakid... But once I drop a few more pounds then they should be fine.

I bought a pair of Gill Freedom pants in XL and they're too large for me. I'm 6' but with a 31" inseam. I was worried about having too little freedom of movement, but the pants are too long for me. Gotta remember, decent rain pants made for cyclists already factor in the freedom of movement thing, so you shouldn't have to go a size up.

I'm 5'8" with a 30" inseam, but my thighs are super huge....just measured them, 27 inches around....so it's hard to find anyhting to fit to say the least....also shows why I prefer street clothes when I ride ;)
