Two likely MTBers decided when one of their favourite descents was closed for building work, to see what was going on and ignored the locked gates and Keep Out signs.
Ended up a bit of a nightmare to say the least!

So the trail got a little muddy? I expected to see someone getting shot at or ride off a cliff or something.
Haha. That actually got pretty funny. Looked like a fun adventure, though.

He was up to his waist in mud (quicksand) which is just as scary as falling off a cliff am sure but takes longer.
I would worry severely if stuck in that.
^ Meh. He had a friend there and they are both adult males in decent health. I Highly doubt he was facing death. Still probably a good adventurous experience, though.

Looks like a normal winter day in the Pacific Northwest (Puget Sound / Seattle) in parts of Capitol Forest or the Tahuya Forest!
Have had many rides where a seemingly shallow puddle turns out to be waist to chest deep water/mud debris
In the "bad old days" when 4-wheel drive vehicles and motorcycles were allowed everywhere - it was not uncommon to find a jeep / pickup truck buried to the window frames in such a mud hole or a motorcycle with just the handlebars above the mud or water
