Great Lakes - The Cleveland (Ohio) Velodrome has opened.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I was in the group of riders who were on the track during the recent open house/ribbon cutting night. We did some pace line riding and simulated races. There are still a few bugs to workout but the facility is good for Cleveland and the area cyclist. During assembly of the velodrome I worked with others who volunteered their time. The organizers of the project got a whole lot facility for $300,000 by utilizing the designer/consultant, donations and volunteer labor.
I will be doing a workout on the track tonight with a few others. The first races are scheduled Sept 15 and I hope to be marginally ready.

This is very exciting. My friends and I may visit the Cleveland Velodrome when we are in the area. The website indicates that the velodrome supplies the bikes. I hope they expand the website so that readers may learn more general information about velodromes.
